Highly soluble in mineral spirits, unlike many vegetable oils, and stays soluble in heat-polymerized oils.

Non-drying and odor-free, with high water absorption and strong polar attraction to metal. Especially effective in rust-preventative oils. Small additions to naphthenic oils give films with long-term outdoor storage protection.
