Wire Drawing
Blown (Oxidized) Rapeseed Oil
A polar oil with strong pigment wetting and lubricity. Its affinity for water makes it a good additive for marine lubricants, and because it is non-drying it suits ribbon inks.
Used in: Marine lubricants, metalworking fluids, drawing and non-ferrous metal processing, release agents, emulsifiable oils, plasticizers, ribbon inks, pigments, paints and enamels
Cetyl Palmitate
The main component of synthetic spermaceti wax. Smooths and conditions dry skin, and adds texture to makeup.
Used in: Emollient, emulsifier and thickener in skin creams and lotions; surfactant in shampoos; moisturizers, foundation, lipstick and lip balm, liners, sunscreen, concealer; wire drawing
Hydrogenated Tallow Glycerides 145M
Saponified, it thickens or gels petroleum oils in greases where you want glycerine in the finished grease.
Used in: Lubricating greases, textile sizes and softeners, wire drawing, wax compounds, buffing and polishing compounds, candles, wire insulation, terne plate, mono- and diglyceride production
Synaceti 116
An alternative to natural spermaceti. A modifier for solvent-based coatings that speeds up surface development in isocyanate, urethane, acrylic and nitrocellulose systems: lower coefficient of friction, better gloss, anti-blocking and faster clarity. Stays malleable in sculptor’s clay.
Used in: Solvent-based coatings and varnishes, sculptor’s clay, cosmetic emollient, drawing compounds, finishing aids, lubricants, leather treatments, glazing
Synaceti 125
For solvent-based coatings and varnishes: lowers the coefficient of friction, improves surface gloss, adds anti-blocking and develops clarity faster. Works in isocyanate, urethane, acrylic and nitrocellulose systems.
Used in: Solvent-based coatings and varnishes, candles, smokeless gun powder, wire drawing
